Overall, these are great stretchy bouldering pants with smart features (diamond crotch and integrated belt) that are usable both in and outside the gym.
I got these because I had been wanting/needing bouldering pants for a while. I looked at tried-and-tested brands like E9, Rondo, etc., but they all seemed a bit too flashy for what I wanted. I saw these Highballer pants at my bouldering gym, and they immediately caught my attention. As mentioned, you can wear them for climbing (rope/lead, bouldering), but also around the house or when out and about. I am currently wearing a knee brace, as I suffered a meniscus injury while climbing, and these pants fit comfortably over it.
The crotch has a diamond pattern, which is amazing—similar to what you find on Norrøna pants! The pockets are deep enough for whatever you want to store in them (iphone 13 fits without issues). The belt works well, and you can easily cut off the extra length if needed. The material contains 2% elastane, which makes them stretchy. Overall, they feel sturdy and like they can withstand some wear and tear, which is unavoidable while rock climbing.
The only time you notice that these aren't as refined as more established brands is in small details like the labels, the tags inside, the packaging, and the interesting smell when first opened (which goes away after a while). But these are all things to be expected from a new brand.
All in all, they seem to be able to do the job they’re made for, and I, for one, cannot wait to fully heal and put them through their paces!
